Red.
Green.
In Midgard, green means Go and Red means stop, but in Asgard, as often is the case, things are a bit opposite.
The swirling together of colors blends in his mind, a whirl back to eternities unremembered and unforgotten, and Loki says many things, but Thor remembers very little, or rather, Thor remembers what he wants to, what he must.

"Are you afraid of a little snake?" he asks, and Thor frowns, because it isn't a little snake he's afraid of, but he can't remember why he'd be afraid of anything.

Asgard is lost, Thor goes on.
Asgard is returned, Thor goes on.
Loki is lost, Thor goes on.
Loki is insane, Thor goes on.
Loki is dead, Thor goes on.

Enough, something in him screams, and there is something suspicious in Odin's voice, some measure of glee when he turns down the throne for Jane, but Thor remembers what he wants to, and perhaps one little century of watching a precious thing bloom and wither and die will be enough respite before the snakes come for him from his nightmares.

The big snake. The end snake. Loki again. Will they ever truly be apart?

"I wish I could trust you," Thor said, and Loki only smirked, and promised him something else instead.

Jormungandr.
