You don’t apologize.
He told you long ago that spring and autumn, seventeen, poison rebirth, demon demonic, you were twins, two faces of the same coin.
You can never remember when you knew you loved him, or when you decided to hate him for it.
He slips free, leaving them to their drinking, their loud, boisterous talk, and comes to lie naked in your bed, quiet, offering you a cup and his mouth.
Years ago, he used to bring you milk, swaying as he spoke. Tonight, he charms you, and when it’s finished, you both know you are forgiven.


AN: It originally said Sh'ten would sing, but I was reading something that said that snakes are actually completely deaf, and the key to snakecharming is the movement. Hurrah for geekdom. o.O
