Most men in his position, though, are not as soft-hearted as he is, most men are not in his position, most men would not handle it, or anything else, as well as he does. Most men would knock the door down, or set it on fire, snarling, and insist that their desires were not to be so lightly refused.

Most men, he reflects, also are not married to women who have enough metal concealed in their robes to perforate an entire army. It is a sobering thought, it helps to keep him in check.

He pouts at the closed door only as much as a Fire Lord is allowed without compromising his dignity, and then retires to his rooms to meditate.
