When I think of heights, I think of falling
“Can I trust you?” Azula’s voice was quieter than usual, and it sent a thrill of fear down Mai’s spine.
“Why would you ask me that?”
“I can’t help but wonder if you’re still carrying that old torch for Zuzu.”
Falling makes me think of you
“We were kids.”
“Some girls are stupid.” Azula examined her manicure. “You wouldn’t be the first to let her hormones get in the way of good sense.”
If I were to fall from grace
“Are you questioning my honor?”
“I’m just giving you a friendly warning. If I get the slightest inkling that you might help my useless, cowardly brother escape and further embarrass me, I will consider it high treason.”
Waiting at the bottom
Mai was a little amused. “You would execute me?”
“I might make Ty Lee do it, to prove herself. But you’d be dead either way.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
